A Beautiful Day For a Handfasting – Part II

June 24, 2011 in Minimalism

Following my last post and the interest it gathered, I’ve managed to get some photos of the event.

Entering the Circle

Entering the Circle

It rained pretty hard and solid all day, but we managed to get the Handfasting done in between downpours!

Bob and Circus at the Altar

Bob and Circus

Bob has the striking red hair and her husband is Circus, I am the High Priest and my friend, Roni was the High Priestess. Just out of interest, my other half is standing just behind Circus, believing that she was safe from the cameras and wearing a hood (Sorry babe)!

Starting to Bind

Starting to Bind

Here I am binding the Bride’s hand, bear in mind that by this time everything was soaked. We had just emptied rainwater out of everything on the altar!

More Binding

As above, notice the candles unlit due to damp wicks after a sudden downpour got them soaked!

After the Handfasting

After the Handfasting - Bride, Groom, High Priest and Priestess, Maiden, Mother and Crone. Oh, and compulsory Broom!

The Cake!

I hope you can see from these select photos that is was a really enjoyable day and it was my absolute pleasure to be a part of the binding of this couple.
